Ferro Chrome Is typically manufactured in electric arc furnace through reduction of chromite ore. Low carbon grades can also be manufactured by silico thermal or alumina thermal reduction of chromite ore. The biggest use of Ferro Chrome is in the manufacture of Stainless steel as an alloying element. The addition of Chrome to Stainless steel imparts it hardness and wear resistance to it. Ferro Chrome powder finds extensive use in wear resistance coatings and as an alloying element to match the specifications of the weld metal in welding electrodes and powder metallurgy.
